There is an ongoing effort to give back to nature with a reforestation project near Lake Maurepas where 2,100 acres of cypress trees were lost in a fire. Over two-thirds of Blind River Properties' 32,000 acres will be left in its natural state. Conservation programs initiated by Blind River Properties have already helped to improve the quality of life on the Amite.
